Lockheed Martin Awards Vision Systems International Contract for F-35 Helmet Mounted Display Systems Enhancements
SAN JOSE, Calif., (Nov. 16, 2011) -Lockheed Martin Aerospace has awarded Vision Systems International (VSI) two additional phases in the development of the helmet mounted display system (HMDS) on the F-35. The contract will enable VSI to enhance the F-35 HMDS currently in production for the 5th generation Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
“This award reaffirms the confidence that Lockheed Martin has in VSI to advance the fifth generation HMDS capabilities that are integral to the success of the F-35 program,” said Drew Brugal, president of VSI.
NVCD/ANVIS First and Successful Operational Flights.
San Jose, CA, (November 13th, 2011)– Vision Systems International, LLC (VSI), a leader in advanced Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) technology recently supported successful operational flights of its Night Vision Cueing and Display / Aviator's Night Vision Imaging System (NVCD/ ANVIS).
“Between June and September this year, Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) F-16 pilots conducted over 300 hours of flight operations using VSI’s NVCD/ ANVIS as part of Unified Protector,” said Drew Brugal, President of VSI.
The RDAF flew approximately 2 hour long missions with advanced Night Vision Cueing and Display goggles, “the tactical information and situation awareness (S.A.) the system provided was outstanding and provided an efficient merge of Night Vision Goggle (NVG) and Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing Systems (JHMCS) information,” said an RDAF spokesperson.
Vision Systems International, LLC, receives Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award
SAN JOSE, Calif., (June 7, 2011)– Vision Systems International, LLC (VSI), the only combat proven helmet mounted display provider, accepted the Silver Boeing Performance Excellence Award for the 3rd consecutive time today. The Boeing Company issues the award annually to recognize suppliers who have achieved superior performance. VSI maintained a silver performance composite performance rating for each month of the 12 month performance period, from Oct. 1, 2010, to Sept. 30, 2011.
This year, Boeing recognized 558 suppliers who achieved either a Gold or Silver level Boeing Performance Excellence Award. VSI is among 417 suppliers to receive the Silver level of recognition.
